Episode 94: Chimaira – Cleveland Groove, NWOAHM & Mosh District Mayhem
I HATE! EVERYONE! We're both very excited for this one... it's time for Cleveland's finest: Chimaira!
This highly underrated powerhouse is sitting comfortably on the City Council in the Mosh District of Riff City—DAYUM! If you haven't heard them yet, or haven't spun their records in a while, stop whatever you're doing right now and press play. You will NOT be disappointed.
In this episode, we break down: • The NWOAHM Debate: Is Chimaira the most un-Swedish influenced band of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal? Or are they the most Groove and Nu-Metal influenced of the bunch? • The Heavyweight Albums: Looking back at Pass Out of Existence, The Impossibility of Reason, and their crushing self-titled record. • Riffs & Mosh Pit Legacy: Analyzing Mark Hunter's iconic vocals, the dual-guitar attack, and why their live energy remains unmatched.
Where do you stand on Chimaira's sound, and what are your favorite tracks? Let us know at our Linktree below!
