Show Notes

Dimension X presents “With Folded Hands,” episode 2, originally broadcast on NBC on April 15, 1950. Adapted by John Dunkel from Jack Williamson’s 1947 science-fiction novelette, this early episode of the series was directed by Edward King and produced by Van Woodward.

In the year 2006, household-mechanicals dealer Harry Underhill finds his business—and humanity’s place in daily life—challenged by the arrival of astonishingly capable humanoid servants. Featuring Philip Bourneuf as Underhill and Alexander Scourby as the Humanoid, this unsettling technological fable explores convenience, protection, and the cost of surrendering responsibility.

Old Time Sci-Fi Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
