Working on a Marvel Movie and Composing Music for Film/TV with Kirsten Evans - Noisy Women The Podcast
noisy and outspokenShow Notes
Kirsten Evans is a British composer who has most recently completed working in the music departments for the Hulu Original 'I am Greta' and the new Marvel movie 'Morbius' during her first year as a freelance media music composer. She has co-composed and been the vocalist for Wales' national entry to the Venice Biennale in 2017, which then toured the UK after it's 5 month stay in Venice with over 30,000+ visitors. Kirsten is the founder of two start up companies, ‘Soundbake’ plans to help break down the masculine undercurrent of the virtual instrument market, whereas ‘Uglicat’ is a coaching business that helps new freelance musicians, who struggle to monetise their skills in an achievable, profitable and fulfilling way.
Kirsten reached out to me via email and it was so lovely to hear about an industry which I personally know so little about. The general consensus throughout this episode is, do not be worried if you send hundreds of emails and no one gets back, they may well reply over the course of time and if not, pester them! Kirsten is an incredible talent, working in a very male dominated industry, with 94% of box office scores being written by men in 2018. Please lap up all information you can from this episode and I hope you leave feeling as inspired as I did when recording.

Even after nearly a decade of being a photographer, my heart still races before most jobs. In this episode of Noisy and Outspoken, I'm breaking down the taboo around pre-show / job anxiety and why feeling nervous just means you care about your craft.
Packing for life on the road is a true art and every person has a list of their non-negotiable items that keep them sane, healthy, and functional when living out of a suitcase.
If you were to remove your tag on Instagram, would anyone know that you took the photograph? That's what we're talking about today, how to find YOUR creative style, not just one you copied from someone else on social media.
When people think of music photography, they picture summer festivals and constantly being on tour. But the reality of turning this into a full-time career? It often means taking on some unsexy jobs behind the scenes that help to pay the bills...
