The RAM 1500 has been a big sales success in Australia, as has the Chevy Silverado, with the Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra to join them soon. But are these US super-utes just too big to operate safely here? Try parking one at Woolies! The already substantial HiLux is just under 5.3m long, a bit over 1.8m wide, and around 1.8m tall. But the Tundra crushes it at 5.9m long, 2.0m wide, and 2.0m tall. How big's your garage? Will it even fit comfortably on a typical Aussie road, or be able to turn on tighter suburban streets? Or are these monster trucks better as narrowly-focused, specialised vehicles, suited to heavy-duty highway towing, or off-road work? Join the discussion!
We'll also cover 'This Week in News' - the breaking stories you need to know about (HiLux Rogue, Y62 Patrol, electric Triton), and we give you a rundown on the fresh metal we've been driving this week, in 'Cars in the Garage'.

Is the Mitsubishi Pajero making a comeback? All signs point to a return for the iconic 4WD wagon, with the Japanese brand even going as far as to tease a new large SUV as part of its line-up of next-generation models. The 2025 Nissan Patrol Y63 is one of the most anticipated new models that's yet to be revealed. That said, there are plenty of clues as to what the seventh-generation upper-large SUV has in store for buyers and fans alike thanks to the mechanically Infiniti QX80 that made its debut in April 2024.
It's been a long time coming, but the Kia ute is finally nearly here. The 2025 Kia Tasman has already been named and teased in camouflage, but we're yet to officially find out all of the key details, including its engine options, pricing, release date, tech and safety, among others. That said, in this Newscast video, CarsGuide Managing Editor Tim Nicholson, News Editor Dom Tripolone and Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton get together to discuss everything we know so far about the Tasman, which will rival the Ford Ranger, Toyota HiLux and Isuzu D-Max when it eventually launches next year. Needless to say, expectations are high for the new Kia ute, with Australian executives promising that it will pull no punches, so expect it to be a very capable offering, with dual-cab pick-up and four-wheel-drive availability. But it remains to be seen if its seemingly divisive exterior design will win over fans. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
