Adelaide United Head Coach, Airton Andrioli | The Run Home with Kymbo & Chad (28.10.26)

Adelaide United manager Anton Andreoli reflects on the team's recent performance following a 2-1 loss to Sydney FC. He notes that the team played well in the first half, executing their game plan effectively. However, a lapse in concentration allowed Sydney to take control in the second half, leading to two goals against them. Andreoli acknowledges that illness within the squad may have affected player performance but emphasizes the need to refocus for their upcoming match against Lion City Sailors in the Asian Champions League.

As the team prepares for the match, Andreoli highlights the importance of adapting to different styles of play in Asian competitions compared to the A-League. He describes Lion City Sailors as a well-structured team with strong defensive capabilities and a potent attack. Andreoli expresses optimism about the benefits of competing in multiple tournaments, believing it will help players develop and improve their skills through increased match exposure. The upcoming game is crucial for Adelaide's chances of advancing in the tournament, and Andreoli is hopeful for a strong crowd to support the team.
