Show Notes

Hey, Ibiza lovers! Get ready to dive deep into the November 2024 episode of In Session Ibiza with Sebastiaan Hooft—a mix that's more than just music; it’s a full-blown Ibiza experience. Imagine the magic of a sunset on Es Vedra, the electrifying vibe of Café Mambo, and the rhythm of a secluded villa party, all seamlessly woven together in this month’s five-hour set. Sebastiaan channels the pure essence of the island, bringing you on a musical journey that speaks to the heart of Ibiza’s legendary music and laid-back luxury. Starting with the soulful beats of Kindrid Souls' “Through My Eyes” ft. John Joshua, Sebastiaan’s November set draws you in with chill yet sophisticated Balearic vibes. As the mix progresses, we dive into a deep, rhythmic landscape, with tracks like Dennis Louvra's “Fly With Me” and Jaselle, Nebu Mitte’s “With You” (Ian Tosel Extended Remix) providing an irresistible groove that captures Ibiza’s sun-drenched elegance. Sebastiaan’s skillful selection pulls you further into a hypnotic state, with club-ready sounds from artists like Return To Saturn, Greg Ochman, and Franky Wah. Each transition, every beat feels like the pulse of Ibiza itself, perfect for anyone craving that Balearic vibe wherever they are. Midway through, Sebastiaan shifts gears into deeper, richer sounds, spotlighting gems like Underworld’s “Two Months Off” (Tim Green Remix) and Sebastien Leger’s “Safari.” It’s here that his skill as a storyteller shines, drawing from his residency experience at iconic venues like Café Mambo to create an atmosphere that’s both nostalgic and forward-looking. The energy is electric yet refined, capturing Ibiza’s charm for both veteran islanders and new fans looking to get lost in its rhythm. By the time we hit Moby's “Go” (Victor Ruiz Remix), the mix has reached peak energy, transforming any room into a dance floor. The set features unforgettable drops and energetic builds, flowing perfectly into tracks from David West & Ida Engberg, Rockka, and Mambo Brothers, each adding to the pulse of the island that Sebastiaan brings to life in each beat. As the session winds down, Sebastiaan brings it back to a more mellow, introspective space with tracks like Roy Rosenfeld’s “Force Major” and Pote & Chloé Caillet’s “Know Now” feat. Poté. These final selections capture the beauty of an Ibiza sunrise, where the party is winding down but the energy is still undeniable. It’s the perfect ending, creating a lasting memory of the Balearic spirit, all through your speakers. So whether you’re planning your next villa party, reminiscing about Café Mambo sunsets, or just wanting to escape into the sound of Ibiza, this November episode of In Session Ibiza is your ticket. October brings the closing stretch of Ibiza’s season, but there’s still plenty of music to share. This month’s In Session Ibiza brings together 13 tracks, with selections from Frankey & Sandrino, Eelke Kleijn, Robag Wruhme, Mochakk, and Adam Ten.SCRIPT x Frankys open with “Inside The Brain,” followed by LOVRA’s “Get Close.” Two Kompakt releases frame Eelke Kleijn’s “The Method,” before Marco Carola’s Bass Mix of “Da Fonk” marks the midpoint. The second half features Deep Fiktion, Michael Grandel and Mesto, with ME.EE and Dimitri Mediator’s Extended Night Mix of “Le Voie Le Soleil” is closing the October selection. Thanks for listening. A full room, Rocco's farewell party, and a set that was supposed to be one hour and ended up running thirty minutes after closing. The dancefloor kept asking for more, and this recording is the full ride. Shout-out to the engineers of Paradiso! Rocco, thank you for asking me to play your farewell. It was an honor to soundtrack your goodbye, and I hope this set takes you right back to that night wherever you go next. Paradiso, thank you for having me. Playing under that roof in Amsterdam is always something special. And to everyone who was there and danced until the lights came on: this one is for you. Sebastiaan

September on the island is the month a lot of us wait for. The crowds thin out, the nights stay warm, and the people still here are the ones who came for the music. This hour leans into that. We open with brand new Drumcode. Volkoder and Korolova released "Waiting For You" at the end of August, their first collaboration and a debut on the label for both of them, built around a recurring vocal hook and a synth riff at 128. It carries melody and drive at the same time, which makes it a good door into the show. Rafael Cerato's "Cash" on Arcane Music follows, then Skytech's remix of ANOTR and 54 Ultra's "Talk to you" gets a short, sharp run before Andre Palms and Lahox take over with "Vibrations" on dFunk. Oliver Heldens and Will Clarke's "Lost In Music" on Spinnin' Deep is the first proper lift, and then it gets interesting: Bart Skils and Weska reworking Soul Central's "Strings Of Life / Un Amore Supremo" for Drumcode. Derrick May's original is one of the most remixed records in dance music, and most attempts add nothing. This one earns its place. The middle of the show belongs to Late London. Three tracks, all from the same "On The Case" EP that landed on Mindshake in August, spread across the set rather than stacked: "Double The Time," the J. Park collaboration "On The Case," and "TIME2WORK." Mindshake has had a strong summer, and this release is a big part of why. Around them, Morab, Altera, and Paul Harris with "Take A Trip" on AETERNA. Robag Wruhme's "Olahni" on Cocoon takes the temperature of the room down without losing anybody. Coco Bevan's "Move Like That" on Apples & Oranges and Sammy Dean's "Play The Game" on Wh0 Worx bring it back up. The last stretch opens out. Emanuel Satie and Bruno Roth's "Touch" runs long and does real work, then The Other Side's "Sinner" holds the deepest passage of the show. I close on my own, "Tree Pose." See you next month. Ibiza family, August is here, and the island is running at full temperature. This one is for you. I made this episode for exactly this moment of the season: one hour of the Seb_h sound, warm and groovy tech house for open air, golden light, and dancefloors that don't want the night to end. Wherever you are listening, on the beach, in the car, or getting ready for the night, this hour is yours. I have something special for you this month. You are the first to hear "Playa", my brand-new collaboration with Belgian Tomorrowland artist Crazy Sir-G, premiered exclusively in this episode. It comes from the same place this whole show comes from: sun, rhythm, and being completely present in the moment. Let me know what you think when you hear it; I read every reply. And if you are on the island: the Tomorrowland Rooftop Sessions continue this month with two nights above Playa d'en Bossa, Friday, August 14 and Friday, August 28, from sunset into the night. Come dance with us, come say hi. Meeting you on that rooftop is my favorite part of the season. All dates and updates: https://ra.co/dj/sebastiaanhooft Recorded in Es Cubells, Ibiza. Turn it up, close your eyes, and you're here.
