Middle schoolers. Big feelings. BIG opinions. And parents just trying not to lose their minds before breakfast. 😂 This week on This & STFU, I'm joined by parenting expert Mary Van Geffen to talk about raising our wonderfully spicy kids. We're getting into the messy middle school years, emotional regulation (theirs AND ours), power struggles, connection, boundaries, and how to support our kids without completely losing ourselves in the process. Because sometimes the hardest part of parenting a spicy kid is realizing that WE might be a little spicy ourselves. Real conversations, practical parenting wisdom, and plenty of laughs. This & STFU with Nicki Marie — because parenting is serious business, but we don't have to be serious all the time.
47 open tabs, two kids, one suitcase, and somehow an invitation to Paris Hilton's house. 😂 Welcome to another week inside my brain. This week on This & STFU, we're catching up on ALL of it. The pre-vacation chaos, the invisible mental load of motherhood, my ongoing battle with packing, and the approximately 947 things that need to happen before a mom can actually leave the house. Then we're off to Southern California, where I attended an ADHD event at Paris Hilton's house (a sentence I still can't believe I'm saying), caught up with my brother Frankie, watched the kids enjoy some Uncle Frankie time, and headed to Disneyland for a little Disney magic. But underneath all the chaos, we're talking about something I think a lot of women understand: being the person who remembers everything for everyone while simultaneously forgetting why you walked into a room. Plus, I'm answering some of your Instagram questions! It's motherhood, ADHD, midlife adventures, family, and a whole lot of laughing at ourselves. Grab your coffee, come hang out, and let's talk about THIS & STFU. ❤️ #ThisAndSTFU #NickiMarie #ADHDWomen #Motherhood #Disneyland
Fall is here, Frankie is back, and apparently I have a book to write. Small problem: I have absolutely no idea what it was supposed to be about. This week, my brother and I are talking all things fall—Halloween memories, fall fashion at 49, being single, manifesting what you want while also remembering to be grateful for what you already have, our Nantucket antics, and the vein in my leg that somehow earned its own segment. We also get into my upcoming California trip, what the hell I'm supposed to wear to Paris Hilton's house, and the fact that I manage to bring up Disneyland approximately three times despite Frankie making it VERY clear he could not care less. And finally: the book. I apparently had a book idea so good that it led to a conversation with a publisher. The meeting is coming up. The idea? Gone. So naturally, we end the episode searching my Notes app for evidence that my ADHD brain didn't permanently delete my future literary career. Just another normal conversation between siblings. This & STFU with Nicki Marie — come hang out. We're not solving anything. We're just discussing it.
I put my kids’ old art table out to be donated…and then sat there staring at it while approximately 400 years of motherhood flashed before my eyes. So naturally, I brought it back inside. We’re not ready. 😂 This week’s solo episode is a little bit of everything: my current Dancing with the Stars obsession, why I’m rooting for Jackson Olsen and Connor Wood, the casual invitation I got to go to California TO PARIS HILTON’S HOUSE (???), and some ADHD thoughts because obviously. And then we get a little sentimental. I’m coaching field hockey this fall, and being back in a sport that has been such a huge part of my life has reminded me of a piece of myself I didn’t realize I missed this much. Basically: motherhood, midlife, ADHD, Paris Hilton, field hockey and an art table I apparently plan to keep until my children are 47. THIS & STFU. Let me live.
Welcome to THIS & STFU — where I have some things to say, very few solutions, and absolutely no intention of pretending I have my life figured out. This week: I joined a gym (apparently we're doing that now), I'm deep in my pre-teen mom era, and we're heading back to Disneyland California — so naturally I have thoughts. We're talking motherhood, getting older, trying to take care of myself while simultaneously managing everyone else's life, Disney plans, and whatever else my ADHD brain decides we need to discuss along the way. No advice. No perfect morning routines. No five steps to becoming your best self. Just me talking about life while I'm living it. This & STFU. Let me live. 😂 🎙️ New episodes every week with Nicki Marie — sometimes solo, sometimes with my brother Frankie, always slightly unhinged.
