Our Miss Brooks presents “Connie’s New Job Offer,” episode 52, originally broadcast on July 31, 1949. Eve Arden stars as English teacher Connie Brooks, with Gale Gordon as Madison High principal Osgood Conklin and Jeff Chandler as Philip Boynton.
During Madison High’s summer session, Connie hears about a potentially better-paying secretarial position in Norwich, Connecticut. As word of the possible career change travels, it affects Connie’s already lively relationships with Conklin, Boynton, Mrs. Davis, and Walter Denton. Originally heard on CBS with Palmolive and Luster-Cream sponsorship, the episode also reflects a topical sponsor contest tie-in of its day.
Old Time Retro Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
