BUCKLE UP. We're talking to the wonderful and brilliant Alex Reid, writer of CLASSIC episodes like Lois's Birthday, Family Reunion, Carnival, Bully, Book Club, Clip Show, and more.
He won an Emmy for penning the episode Bowling, and went on to write or direct for shows like the Mindy Project, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Young Sheldon. He's an absolute chiller, as all the people who helped make Malcolm in the Middle are.
We grill Alex about life in the Linwood writers room and get into how these episodes were put together: from outline to final script.
Alex gives insight into things we didn't even realize to ask about, like whose feet are ACTUALLY being rubbed in Old Mrs. Old? And who is doing the dang rubbing??
This, and more, in our fabulous chat with The Reidster. He doesn't know I just called him that.
Enjoy!

What’s that you hear? That’s right, it’s another KRELBOYNE INTERVIEW! This week we’re talking to the legendary Will Jatho, also known as ERASERHEAD, everybody’s favorite spiky-haired little nerd with a large scary brother. If you’ve ever listened to this show and wished it had more discussion about nuclear energy, this episode is for you! We loved our time chatting with Will and we hope you will too.
Malcolm and Dewey have fallen into the tiger cage at the zoo.
This is THE most informed review of Season 3 of Malcolm in the Middle you are likely to find. As we realize in this episode, we've been watching this season over the course of 9 months. Insanity.
