In this episode, I sit down with Brad Lewington, who spent seven years as CEO of Spencer Ogden, taking over the business when 80% of its revenue was tied to a collapsing oil & gas market and rebuilding it into a £121M-revenue business that sold to private equity 30 days before COVID hit. After stepping away in 2023, Brad started again from zero, launching Generative Group from Guildford with an offshore team in Cape Town built in from day one. We dig into the mistakes he made spreading his new business too thin across too many "islands" in year one, why he'd already given founders the exact advice he then ignored, and how refocusing on a single niche took Generative from £456K to £1.4M in net fee income.
