Nothing Is Off Record: Juliet Harris on Crisis PR, Rachel Leviss & Taylor Frankie Paul
After Reality with Courtney RobertsonShow Notes
What happens when a celebrity scandal breaks, the internet is on fire, and everyone is waiting for the perfect statement? According to veteran publicist Juliet Harris, nothing is ever really “off record.” This week on After Reality, I’m joined by the founder of IT Girl Productions for a behind-the-scenes look at crisis PR, celebrity scandals, and reputation management. Juliet has worked with major names including Nelly, The Backstreet Boys, La Toya Jackson, and Rachel Leviss, and she knows exactly what it takes to help a public figure survive a public storm. But what does accountability actually look like when the spotlight is on you — and is a statement ever enough? Juliet shares how she went from studying criminology to managing high-profile reputations, and what really happens behind the scenes when a headline starts spiraling. We talk about how social media has changed the PR game, why accountability matters, and how publicists decide what to say — and what not to say — when the internet is watching. We also get into the latest celebrity PR parallels, from Taylor Frankie Paul to Blake Lively, Spencer Pratt’s run for mayor, and how reality TV personas can collide with real-life consequences. Plus, Juliet shares her thoughts on The Bachelorette PR team, what they may be navigating behind the scenes, and how a franchise handles headlines when the story starts moving faster than the official messaging. Juliet also opens up about balancing a demanding career with motherhood, staying organized under pressure, and why great PR is really a strategic chess game built on instinct, relationships, and knowing when to make the right move. @itgirlpublicrelations Hosted on Acast. More from After Reality with Courtney Robertson
Papa Robertson is back, and this week we're talking about something that's been on my mind lately: What makes you feel alive? From big adventures and having things to look forward to, to the little everyday moments that bring us joy, we're diving into what it really means to feel alive. I also asked you to share what makes you feel alive, and your responses did not disappoint. I read as many of your messages as I could, and some of your stories really touched us. It's a reminder that we're all looking for a little more joy, connection, and excitement in our lives.
Fall feels like a fresh start this year. After a difficult summer, I’m settling into a new home and figuring out what this next chapter looks like. So I invited Papa Robertson back to talk about starting over and finding your footing when life doesn’t go the way you planned. We talk about what my 98-year-old grandmother has taught us about staying connected, taking care of yourself, and enjoying the simple things. Papa shares some of his favorite ways to lift your spirits, from getting outside and spending time in Sedona to visiting the library or sending someone a handwritten card. It’s a little bit of fall, a lot of Papa wisdom, and a reminder that even in the middle of change, there are still good days ahead.
I’m back with a candid life update after a few very chaotic weeks. Between moving into a new home, getting my kids settled, dealing with sickness running through the house, and navigating an increasingly difficult divorce, it’s been a lot. I share where things stand with my living situation, the legal challenges I’m facing, and what it’s been like trying to rebuild my life while protecting my peace and my children. As hard as this chapter has been, I also feel something I haven’t felt in a long time: FREE! I’m finally starting to feel healthy again, excited about what’s ahead, and more like myself. This episode is about the messiness of starting over, learning what deserves my energy, and finding little reasons to look forward to life again. Hosted on Acast. I join Game of Roses hosts Chad Kultgen and Lizzy Pace for a raw and revealing conversation about my divorce, the alleged infidelity I uncovered, and rebuilding my life while raising three young children. I also take Chad and Lizzy inside the Bachelor Nation podcast event that led to my tense conversation with Trista Sutter, the history behind our years-long conflict, and what happened behind the scenes during our uncomfortable Almost Famous appearance. Plus, we get into Bachelor Mansion Takeover, villain edits, my groundbreaking Bachelor tell-all, the strange hierarchy of Bachelor Nation—and the pickleball tournament Chad is now determined to win. In this solo episode, I’m sharing a raw and very real update on my ongoing divorce following my ex’s infidelity. I open up about the emotional and legal nightmare of separating from someone who still wants control, the manipulation and narcissistic behavior I’ve experienced, and what it’s been like trying to create a safe, independent home for my children and me. I also talk about the incredible people helping me survive this brutal chapter—including my dad, my closest friends, and even my ex’s ex-girlfriend—and share the shows bringing me a little joy and giving me a much-needed escape from reality. Through all of it, I’m staying focused on protecting my children, continuing my podcast, and slowly rebuilding my life. And stay tuned until the very end—you’ll get to hear his true colors in an accidental message he sent me.
