13. Robert with the Good Skin, The Arnold Palmer of Cryptids and Daddy Walt's Return
The Nightmare GirlsShow Notes
Freaky Friday episode 13 has arrived! Now that our podcast has reached its teens, it is filled with even more spooky angst! And, unfortunately, some audio problems that will hopefully be solved by next week. In this episode, Meg talks about the nefarious Robert the Doll, who has glowing dewy skin and a desire to kill. Rose explores the mysteries of the infamous Basilisk and its unusual origins. Finally, Anna finishes up by bringing good old Daddy Walt into the picture, exploring the theory that Disney may have been cryogenically frozen after his death. Now some may ask: Do you think this will scare the kids? To which I might say: The kids? This will give the parents nightmares! (I have still not received any formal reprimands for the Jurrasic Park/World quotes and thus, will continue. -Anna)
More from The Nightmare Girls
For our Halloween episode this year, we're doing something a little different! As you may know, we all love to write... and we all loveee horror. So this week Rose, Meg, and Anna have written short stories to read aloud for extra spooks and scares. This episode features "A Cryptid In Your Closet???" by Rose Horell; "S'mores" by Meg Brennan; and "More Red" by Anna Schroeder. Happy Halloween!!
Back at it again with another spooky season episode! Meg talks the haunted Myrtles Plantation where there are a lot of spirits who like to make appearances in mirrors and windows. Rose talks Furbies, a really creepy children's toy that may or may not try to kill you in your sleep. And finally, Anna gives us another physics lesson for dummies and chats about portals, which are a very freaky concept. We hope you've been enjoying all the spooks this October, and definitely stick around for a very special episode coming next week!
Hello spooksters and welcome back! In this episode we once again prove we have the same humor as 12-year-old boys and also tell some creepy stories to top it off. Meg covers the horrifying Villisca Axe Murders and the subsequent haunting. Rose talks about Not Deer and their freaky knees. Anna wraps up talking about Ong Shat, sorry, I mean Ong's Hat, a weird abandoned settlement with a truly wild history(?). Buckle in, there's only a couple more weeks until Halloween!
No seriously. If you are at all sensitive to body horror or gore, really stop listening before you get to Anna's topic. This week we're bringing you one of our scariest episodes yet for this spooky season. Rose and Meg pull a switcheroo to talk about black-eyed children/black-eyed kids and get into a bunch of spooky stories. Anna covers the Russian sleep experiments, and Meg gags about it. If you enjoy the spooks, you're in for a treat. If not, well... don't say I didn't warn you. Welcome to spooky season!
