It's called Killer Communications, and it's hosted by Mike Morford. In each episode of Killer Communications, Mike discusses a true crime case where one of the clues is a mysterious form of contact; whether it's a frightening phone call to a victim, a mysterious email to the press, or a taunting letter sent to the press, these bizarre communications happen more often than you might think, and sometimes have deadly consequences. In this short preview of Killer Communications, Season 1 Episode 1, you'll hear about the case of Dale Williams, a father and husband, who was lured from the Nucla, Colorado body shop he owned by a mysterious caller in 1999. He was never seen again. His abandoned truck was found submerged in a local waterway, but there was never any sign of Dale himself. Despite an ex-friend of Dale's being a longtime suspect in the case, police were never able to make an arrest. But that all changed in 2024 when an arrest and answers finally came. Episode 125 The Sodder Children In the early morning hours of Christmas day, 1945, the Sodder family of Fayetteville, West Virginia was asleep when suddenly, they were jolted awake by smoke. It quickly was evident that a fast moving fire had started, and time was running out for parents George and Jennie Sodder to make sure their nine children got out of the house. Within a short time, the family had gathered outside of the home as it burned to the ground. But the Sodders quickly realized that five of their nine children were not with them. Unaccounted for were 14 year old Maurice, 12 year old Martha, 10 year old Louis, 8 year old Jennie, and 5 year old Betty. It appeared that the five children had tragically died in the fire. But a lack of answers, and remains, as well as questionable actions by authorities at the scene, left George and Jennie believing that perhaps their children had not died in the fire after all. There were also things that concerned them on the night of the fire ranging from a noise on the roof, to a cut phone line, to a missing ladder. Were the Sodders simply heartbroken parents who could not accept they their children had died, or was there more than meets the eye with this fire? Debate over this mysterious case rages to this day. In this episode, Miranda Weeks, the great, great granddaughter of George and Jennie Sodder is our guest, and she discusses the puzzling aspects of this case. Episode 124 Travis Roberson On February 28th, 2006, 23 year old Travis Roberson went out with friends to celebrate Mardi Gras in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The group of friends was in a bar when it seems Travis got uneasy about two men who had entered the bar, and he left alone to go wait in the vehicle the group had come together in. When his friends arrived back at their car later on, there was no sign of Travis, and he was never seen again. But Travis's case was not a run of the mill case, and he was fearful for his safety. That's because when he vanished, Travis had been cooperating with police and was about to testify against a drug dealer. Travis vanished before he could testify. Complicating matters, is that there was a delay in investigating his disappearance as two different police agencies seemed to pass his case back and forth, and the result was that neither wound up fully investigating it until years later. Although Travis's family does not believe he's still alive, they want to find out what happened to him. In this episode, Travis's sister Sonya discusses the struggle to find answers over the last two decades. When he was last seen, Travis was wearing a blue checkered/plaid button-down shirt, blue jeans, tan New Balance shoes and a green Corona baseball cap. Travis suffered from Epilepsy which required medication. He was described as a White Male standing 6ft1, and weighing 170 pounds with Brown hair and Brown eyes. He had several tattoos, including a snake on his right arm, a face with the tongue out on his right arm, the letters "FTW" on the back of his neck, a bearded man with red eyes on his right arm at the shoulder. If you have information about Travis's case, please contact the Siloam Springs Police Department 479-524-4118 To listen to every episode of Missing Persons early, and ad-free, and get other benefits, simply visit our channel page on Apple Podcasts to get started with an AbJack Insider subscription.
