Introducing Digital Democracy with Travis Misurell of FiNC, Future is Now Coalition
Spilling the Village TeaShow Notes
Hello Villagers! This episode features Travis Misurell, founder of the Future is Now Coalition (FiNC). Travis has been concerned about issues many Americans are also concerned about and he identifies it thusly: "right now, big money and party gatekeepers control who you are even allowed to vote for. You're stuck choosing between two pre-approved options and hoping one is slightly less bad." FiNC is building a new civic infrastructure, owned by citizens, where every candidate gets a fair shot. The goal is that citizens can find leaders they feel truly represent them. Listen to the many facets of this digital democracy: politician report cards, candidate matchmaker, changing the lens from "Left vs Right" to Up or Down, and the role of media.
