Show Notes
We're joined by a titan of American metal (everybody calls him that): Randy Blythe of Lamb of God. We dive deep into Randy's life and musical history, from young punk rocker hopping freight trains, blowing off singing for the band that would become Burn the Priest, battling alcoholism from the early days through the glory days of Lamb of God, getting sober on tour with Metallica, his experience in Czech prison, and much, MUCH more. This is a loaded episode with a true legend in extreme music, who practices what he preaches and lives up to all of the kind things you hear about him. Go see Lamb of God on tour, check out their new record "Into Oblivion" on March 13th, and grab a copy of Randy's latest book "Just Beyond The Light" wherever you get your books! _______________ Cool links: • Get 10% off GUILTY PARTY site-wide with code HARDLORE and grab some of our favorite clothing brands of all time • Go see Lamb of God with many other great bands at Welcome to Rockville and Sonic Temple! • HardLore Official Website/HardLore Records STORE ____________________ 00:00:00 - Start 00:03:08 - Approaching the 10th Lamb of God Album 00:05:26 - Logo Change (Papyrus) 00:06:26 - Finding Music (Disco, Rock, Punk) 00:16:15 - Finding Local Music & Community 00:19:33 - Randy isn't a Metalhead, Moving to Richmond 00:28:50 - Randy's First Band 00:30:25 - The Tale of Burn The Priest 00:43:53 - Pardon This Interuption 00:46:38 - Sobriety 00:49:42 - Burn The Priest Self-Titled 00:55:10 - Changing The Name To Lamb Of God 01:00:43 - Panic Attack on a Roof 01:03:29 - Playing CBGBs, Recruiting Willy, New American Gospel 01:12:54 - As The Palaces Burn, Ashes of the Wake, Ozzfest & George W. More from HardLore
No need to have a nervous breakdown, we've finally got the legendary KEITH MORRIS on HardLore, one of the founding fathers of hardcore music.
This week we’re joined by Andrew Kline, co-founder and guitarist of one of California hardcore’s most important bands: STRIFE.
Hello welcome! Decided to take a minute this week to reflect on the last 4 and a half years of the show and do a little deep dive into what are, in my opinion, our top 10 most important episodes. "Important" meaning episodes that we talked about often that felt like game changers in different ways: Creative growth, audience growth, and personal growth.
Let the chaos begin... In March of this year, Bo and I had an idea to let the viewers decide on our next bracket episode (since you're never happy with the bands we pick) and this was the result. The top 64 bands, as voted by YOU! Every matchup was random in our first ever truly unpredictable live tournament challenge.
This week we're joined by vocalist Ross Farrar & guitarist Anthony Anzaldo of the great CEREMONY...
