Artist Spotlight on Plains Media - Flannel Hound and all about Mixed Doubles!
Artist Spotlight on Plains MediaShow Notes
Phil from Ōtautahi band Goodbye Starlet, is launching a new community arts project called Flannel Hound.
Flannel Hound is a non-profit events and promotions organisation with a big goal: supporting the local arts community by reinvesting profits into recording, touring and future projects for Ōtautahi artists.
Its first event series, Mixed Doubles, brings two acts together for a night of rotating sets, musical collaborations and covers of each other’s songs. No traditional opening acts here, just two bands sharing the spotlight!
The series kicks off at Space Academy on Friday, October 30, featuring T. G. Shand and Death and the Maiden. Future shows will bring together Mousey and Model Home, Phoebe Vic and Secret Admirer, and Hotel Emily and Lovers Anonymous.
With a portion of every ticket also going directly to Space Academy, Flannel Hound is finding new ways to support the musicians, venues and people who keep Ōtautahi's live music scene thriving.
