We covered everything from Sean’s moves around the country to getting into metal writing, to the label giving a start to bands like Castle Rat and Mother Of Graves, to Wise Blood Records’ classic slogan “Our riffs are mean. We’re not.”

We also touched on our collective love of Edge Of Sanity, the magic that is Dan Swanö (and his guest spot on the record), Chris’ history in heavy music, and what we’ve both been listening to lately.

We covered everything from the new Pain single to the band getting huge thanks to Nokia ringtones back in the day; Hypocrisy and their shifts in sound; and of course – Bloodbath, specifically their 2004 track “Eaten”.

We pretty extensively talked about the band signing to Willowtip Records, their new record The Mother Void and the band working with vocalist Fabienne Erni of Eluveitie on every single song, and the band’s trip to Sweden to record with Jens Bogren – plus Matt getting really, really sick on the way there.

We focused pretty heavily on The Acacia Strain’s transition period between Coma Witch and It Comes In Waves, as well as the writing process behind a lot of the newer (and very diverse) stuff. And as seems to be the case every few episodes, we talked about Metallica.
