Youth Gone Mild Podcast

Show Notes

🤘DOES CLEVELAND REALLY ROCK⁉️

On one of the very last vacation episodes of the Youth Gone Mild Podcast, host Gen X Joe has Jib Machine Records founder John Templeman as his guest to begin Season 3, Episode 1.

Since its inception in 2004, Jib Machine has released more than sixty records, many of which were made by unforgettable Cleveland characters by keeping their ears to the clubs and done their best to boost contemporary Ohio rock's signal. But they've never forgotten their roots or the roots of the local sound, and they've reissued music by area legends and assisted the re-formation of beloved, fondly remembered groups.

One of the biggest names to have to have done so is Slammin' Gladys, they brought their distinctive hard rock, funk, blues, and glam-metal out of a decades-long hibernation to cut a new album a few years back. Their story and more from the man behind the label for this new episode.

For Season 3, Episode 17 of the Youth Gone Mild Podcast, host Gen X Joe has Adam Bernard as his guest. Bernard is a music journalist with 25 years of experience and a reputation for championing indie artists. In 2020 he wrote 'ChemBro: Embracing Beastmode to Beat Cancer', a memoir about being diagnosed with testicular cancer that had spread to a lung while he was training for his fifth-degree black belt in Kempo, which is remarkable. However, he and Gen X Joe discuss his latest book, 'One Hit Wondering: The Stories of 40 One Hit Wonders + Other Tales From The Crates', which was released July 21, 2026.
