Show Notes
During World War II, the United States government rounded up over 120,000 Japanese Americans, most of whom were U.S. citizens, and sent them to remote incarceration camps across the western United States for suspected disloyalty. One of those camps was Manzanar, located in the harsh desert of eastern California. When a popular community leader was arrested without explanation, thousands of incarcerated residents gathered in protest, sparking what we now know as the Manzanar Uprising, which left two people dead and changed the course of history.

In 1996, a troubled 16-year-old boy named Rod Ferrell believed he was a 500-year old-vampire. He formed a small group of local teens in Murray, Kentucky obsessed with vampire roleplaying, blood drinking, and occult beliefs. The roleplaying took a serious turn when Rod broke into the home of Richard Wendorf and Naomi Ruth Queen - the parents of clan member Heather Wendorf - and beat them to death. What followed became a media sensation, and has been remembered as the Vampire Clan Murders.

Before America had witch trials, Europe had werewolf trials - and they were as dark as they sound. One of the most infamous cases of time was that of Peter Stumpp, a man who was convicted and executed for serial murder, cannibalism, incest, and practicing black magic to transform into a werewolf. The Werewolf of Bedbug has cemented its place in German history not only for its gruesome nature, but as an example of a case in which people focused on villainizing wolves. Looking back on the case in present day, it ultimately revealed that the depths of human depravity seem to know no bounds.
