Show Notes

In the past, when I felt triggered, shame often followed. I knew I was reacting, and I wished I weren’t. Then came the frustration: “I thought I was over this. Why am I still reacting this way?” or “That happened years ago. Why can’t I just move on?”

After years of inner work, I understand those moments differently. I wasn’t making space for the emotions of my Survival Self—the part of me shaped by childhood experiences and the coping strategies I developed to get through them.

Those triggers were a younger part of me asking for love, understanding, and compassion.

🎙 In this week’s episode of Permission to Thrive, I sit down with my wonderful guest and fellow Soul Care Coach, Joe Argazzi, to explore the difference between our authentic essence and the Survival Self we formed in childhood.

We talk about: 🌀 How to recognize your authentic self and your Survival Self🌀 How to meet yourself with compassion when you feel triggered 🌀 Why turning toward your inner shadows is a brave first step in healing

If you’re ready to understand yourself more deeply and become the source of validation you’ve been seeking, this episode is for you.

The journey begins with compassion for the parts of you that survived. They helped you get here.

💙 And… please join me for my upcoming course: Healing the Heart of the Inner Child.

Together, we’ll explore the wounds and limiting beliefs of the past and learn to offer your Inner Child the love, compassion, and safety she needs to thrive.
