There Goes My Inheritance w/ JARED FREID | Steph Infection

Steph Infection

Show Notes

Jared Freid joins Steph to talk about his new Netflix hour The Family Plan, an entire special built out of his dad asking him how much he weighs at the beach. This leads to the two of them immediately spiraling into parent damage. Steph explains how she blew $900 on a one-way Air Canada ticket to escape her parents' cottage after getting screamed at over her parents' dog's diarrhea ("not my dog, not my problem"), then details her mom's $30,000-and-climbing stone slab renovation and the "there goes my inheritance" joke she landed ten times in three days while the neighbors ate it up. Jared gets into his dad stealing country club cups and demanding they come off the internet, boomer parents who hit a triple and think they landed on third, his mom telling him to just call Jimmy Fallon, and his dad asking a topsoil guy if he watches Netflix. From there it's Palm Beach International becoming Trump International Airport, personality T-shirts at the airport, the older gentleman who came to his show alone in an "I eat pussy" shirt, the Mel Robbins interview that went badly, and a long honest run on GLP-1s, his dad offering him Ozempic at dinner, the 80-year-old golf buddy who sold him on it, and the Monday morning Carney Wilson handed him a Biscoff cake at Jeff Lewis Live. Plus: where would you put a third arm, Steph refusing to become Steph McDonald, Jared's brother coaching the Bears, all dressed chip discourse, and the local chip, local mustard rider.

This week Stef Dag rolls by Steph Infection via Waymo, to talk everything from the origins of her name she's never really identified with to the beauty and magic of plastic surgery and Botox. The two Slavic, filth queens also get into the mental warfare that is female body image, being pro-Ozempic, capitalizing on hate comments, going viral off of hot takes, the lesser known signs and symptoms of an eating disorder, doing the nasty in autonomous vehicles, drunk and drowsy Uber drivers, unwanted pregnancies, and more! Go see Stef and Steph on the road!

This week Wheeler Walker sits down with Steph and gets into the nitty gritty of life on the road, the rules he had to break to break records, staying true to yourself, and capitalizing on the hate. They touch on atrocious auditions, nightmare flights, shit-etiquette, waxing where the sun doesn't shine, and Wheeler's farewell album: Pulling Out. Go listen to it now and see both Wheeler and Steph on tour!

Margaret Cho stops by Steph Infection and delivers what is officially the grossest story ever told on this podcast, the one that finally made Steph gag on mic. Steph and Margaret get into being each other's Daniel Webb connection, why Margaret hasn't gone to a Hollywood party since the aughts, bangs and Botox as an anti-aging program, Forensic Files guilt and whether true crime is a cautionary tale for women or just somebody else's tragedy, the night a 500-pound man in a tow truck tried to talk a teenage Margaret into coming with him and how she knew to run, restraining orders being useless paper, threesomes being for cucks and having too many smells, the semen-is-bleach debate that got Steph called crazy on Bob the Drag Queen's podcast, the blowjob that earned a hotel suite upgrade in Charleston, Margaret's splinter that went so deep into her foot it required surgery and came out looking like a wine cork crossed with a bay scallop that she then asked to eat, toenails that grew UP like little hamburger patties from 1970s swimming pool fungus, toenail removal and nail bed cauterization, plantar warts, hemorrhoids, the 5% cream that actually works, Steph's extremely short taint, Scott Thompson cutting out his own plantar wart in a Banff cabin with vodka and scissors, why chihuahuas are the second most euthanized breed, the person reselling sidewalk gum in fake packaging, and Margaret's first special in twelve years, filming this November. Enjoy!
