Paris became home for several years, with Michael playing regularly around the city's jazz scene, from it's prestigious jazz clubs to festivals right across France with various jazz groups. With the group Sans Elle he won the Jazz en Baie festival competition, and he went on to reach the finals of several other competitions in France and around Europe.

Since returning to Australia in 2016, Michael has played with a wide range of musicians around Sydney across styles from jazz to rock, blues and roots, including Ruby Tuesdays and currently, Sacred Crows.

He also leads the critically acclaimed jazz trio Waveteller, with pianist Casey Golden and drummer EdRodrigues, and the trio is currently preparing to release its third studio album.

He also recently released The Fold, a duo album with Golden built on an exciting rhythmic and melodic conversation between piano and double bass. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
