Tides of Lore

Show Notes

Lore segment begins at (19:35)

Deathwing’s return did more than scar the surface of Azeroth. It tore open the barrier between worlds and left Deepholm, the elemental plane of earth, unstable enough to threaten everything above it.

In Episode 73 of Tides of Lore, Insanity’s Cradle, we follow the Earthen Ring into the Maelstrom, descend into Deepholm, and begin the desperate hunt for the shattered World Pillar. But the mission quickly becomes more than a recovery effort. The Twilight’s Hammer has infiltrated both Horde and Alliance forces, Deathwing’s corruption still festers in the stone, and Therazane’s own servants are beginning to turn against the outsiders trying to save the realm.

This is the story of the World Pillar, the Twilight’s Hammer, the Stonehearth war, and the moment Cataclysm’s damage stopped being a surface wound and became something far deeper...

Lore segment begins at (10:04) A prince promises survival at a terrible cost. Rebels escape his city, bargain for sanctuary, and build a new life above the world. Thousands of years later, their descendants must decide how to save the home that bargain gave them. We begin Tides of Lore: Forever by connecting the Skyborne’s origins to the Shen’dralar of Eldre’Thalas, the ancient city now known as Dire Maul. We follow Tortheldrin’s rule, the rebellion against his plans, and the exiles whose journey leads into Skywall and the Zephras Isle starting storyline. First, we return to the aftermath of Warcraft III: Arthas’s betrayal, Grom Hellscream’s sacrifice, the stand at Mount Hyjal, and the fragile peace that follows. These events leave Azeroth with the rivalries, displaced peoples, and unfinished conflicts that form the backdrop to World of Warcraft: Forever. We also discuss the High Order and Windshapers, the Skyborne’s ties to the Kirin Tor and Earthen Ring, and our first impressions of how their story fits into Warcraft’s history.
