"As a nine-year-old in the ER, I was observing everything from above, the absolute panic, and hysteria. But I was at peace and felt the sensation of being cradled."
How many times must I forgive? Seven times? 77 times? In Jim's case, it was not once, in 20 years. -------- For 20 years, Jim remained angry with a woman who had fought his decision to fire her and taken him to court. Then, while praying before Mass, God brought her unexpectedly--and unmistakably--back into his mind. Forgive her. Jim had been thinking about forgiving someone else, but apparently God wanted to begin here. So, Jim made a bargain with God, attaching his forgiveness to one highly unlikely condition involving the sign of peace. It was the kind of condition that could never actually be met--or so Jim thought.
