The Unlaced Podcast with Jake Barker-DaishShow Notes
Richard Hughes is an Australian based Hollywood Film Director and Writer who recently released his first feature film called `The Enforcer' which was led by Antonio Banderas and Kate Bosworth. Rich is also known for `The Viral Experiment' which was across 8 pieces of content that fooled mainstream media to believing it was real and generated millions of views which states the genius of the man. There was so many interesting stories in this podcast about the film space but also Rich's run ins with people through the movie industry such as the late Angus Cloud (Fez from Euphoria), Zac Efron and Two Chainz which were all truly fascinating. We made a goal to open up the aperture of possibilities with the various guests and industries we want to go after for the show and this was an absolutely awesome space to tap into with a podcast filled with energy and laughter. I hope you enjoy the episode and leave us a review if you have not already :) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Zach Tuohy’s story is remarkable with his upbringing in Ireland, background in Gaelic Football and the switch to AFL premiership star. Zach opens up about some of the initial difficulties adjusting to the AFL and how playing with the likes of Chris Judd enabled his game understanding to blossom so quickly. Zach’s breakdown of Geelong, its culture and its elite level players was unmatched in this episode as he had the joy of winning a premiership with the cats. This episode highlights so much behind the athlete, the strength of Zach to persevere and sheds light on his new book called ‘The Irish Experiment’. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to subscribe to the show :)
Paul Taylor is Ex-military, Neuroscientist, Physiologist and Nutritionist that believes we are the most depressed, addicted, obese and medicated in human history yet civilisation is the most advanced it has ever been. Paul believes we all need to take a "tough winters training' as he frames it help us prepare for the inevitable difficulties in life to help us deal with stress in our lives easier. In this episode Paul details why exercise, hot therapy, cold therapy and nutrition can assist with the gremlin in your mind and life to keep you moving forward despite the "shit sandwich' life has given you. This was one of the most helpful podcasts we have ever done, and I cannot recommend this one to anyone who is eager to learn about the brain, perform and overcome obstacles with success.
Mac Andrew is fast becoming a superstar and a massive name in the AFL after only 41 games in the league and still at the age of only 20 years old. This episode we break down Mac's ability to play both ends of the field and with one of the biggest contracts in AFL history, Mac shares why he is focused on winning a premiership with the culture building on the Gold Coast. It hasn't been an easy road for Mac and his family who fled South Sudan to Egypt where Mac was born before coming to Australia with such a big family. Without doubt, Mac's story is nothing short of amazing and inspirational at the fact that he has the world at his feet and has already become a role model for his community which is a proud moment. This podcast we break down the season that was, Mac's game winner against Essendon and why working with Damien Hardwick is getting the best out of Mac Andrew's ability.
Adam Cooney joins us for one of the funnier shows of the year as we discuss the career of the only #1 draft pick to win a Brownlow medal in the AFL's history. Western Bulldogs took the talented 18-year-old from West Adelaide in 2003 who had a burst of speed and an eye for goal and would go on to play 250 games in the AFL including a short period at Essendon. The storytelling of Adam Cooney shines through as we discuss legends of the Western Bulldogs, the Rodney Eade hair sprays, 2008 - 2012 performances along with riding the wave of the Essendon doping saga. So many great aspects to this episode that all footy fans will absolutely love for instance Adam Cooney may have played a role in Brendan Fevola's Brownlow shenanigans all those years ago. Hope you all enjoy the episode and don't forget to subscribe.
Clayton Oliver joins the show for what is a rare interview and conversation. This episode I felt showcased a guy that has been one of the elite midfielders in the competition from his inception in the AFL and has experienced it all from the good, bad and indifferent. Clayton has had nine years in the competition and for six of those seasons he has averaged 30 disposals a game, won four best 'n' fairest awards at Melbourne, three All Australian selections and a Premiership across his tenure. In this episode we shine a light on Clayton being a human being dealing with extreme pressure's, his upbringing and his time in the AFL that no doubt has provided a generational midfield for the Melbourne footy club. We hope this interview shines a light on the person we don't always get to see via mainstream media. Through adversity I do admire Clayton for the fact he never gives up, works hard and gives his best for his footy club when fit and healthy. We hope you enjoy this episode and don't forget to subscribe and review our show if you're new here. Thankyou for turning up!
