Nonni steps up to clear a path in the red sticky goo lines like those they previously spotted in Hella, but the situation goes to hell in a handbasket when a massive mutated zombie spitter takes umbrage at their presence, and the group are scattered and attacked.
The survivors of Skógafoss make their way to Vík, where they meet Hunter and his new associate Colin. Quickly learning that the Airstrip is in a dangerous way, and with no way to contact the oncoming pilot, they discuss strategy - that is until Colin reveals his connection to their family.
The fight at Skógafoss continues, resulting in lost weapons and bodily harm to the defenders, that sees more than one of the family needing to check themselves for life ending, zombie infected bites. The following morning is bleak as they make final calls to Vík and the Westman Islands before they head away from the warmth of family into the cold of Iceland.
The radio is answered by a gruff Westman Islander, who informs them that Emily is alive, and they consider what help they could offer the cause. The cousins head into the field to wrangle a sheep in exchange for rations, but the contest turns personal. On their return to the museum area, they’re greeted with an unthinkable sight - Abigail drawing a small horde of fast moving zombies.
Skógafoss delivers mixed news as Nonni searches for his parents. We learn how this small group came to be, and how it came to be so small. Óli and Bryce work to make contact with Hunter in Vík only to learn that the airport situation is not going to be as easy as it seems. And Abigail confesses that she feels scared and choiceless about her existence.
