Why We Should Forgive

God Is Within Her - a women’s devotional podcast

Show Notes

Hey friends! On today's episode we tackle the topic on forgiveness again. This time we are in Matthew 19. Jesus gives us a parable about a master and a servant. How the servant owes a huge debt and how the master shows huge grace and compassion to forgive the debt. But then the servant goes and is unforgiving of a friend's debt to him. -- This parable is an example of our huge debt we cannot pay back to God due to our sins. And yet His mercy is just lavished on us and our slates are wiped clean through Jesus Christ. And yet we don't hesitate to hold a grudge against another who has hurt us. Yes, the hurt was real. Yes, they don't have to be in your life. But this parable will put in to perspective why Jesus commands us to forgive one another, because we are forgive by God for our sins.

Hey friends! On today's episode, we are going to focus on Galatians 1 and 2. And I really want to focus on challenging you to do an inner inventory of your faith. Ask yourself, "am I blending my faith with the world?" In other words, are you allowing yourself to blend or bend your faith to allow things in that are not righteous and of God? Is your source of faith and morality the one True God? Or do you allow the voices of culture, celebrities, and the world convince you that certain things are "ok"?

Hey friends! Hope you had an amazing Easter and Happy Resurrection Day!! Today, I wanted to adlib and give some of my unedited thoughts on the cross and why it's the single most important thing about our faith. More specifically, have you ever thought more deeply about the phrase "Jesus died on the cross for our sins"? Like what does that even mean?! Let's chat about it today!

Hey friends. This week has been a dark one with the tragedy in Nashville. It has brought the question "why God?" And honestly, I can't really answer that for you. But, I can tell you what I have learned...and that is this world is temporary. And it's time we start blaming evil and darkness for the evil and darkness in the world. God has a plan. We may not understand it. It sometimes is an unimaginably painful plan. But, this world is temporary and it is not our forever home. And friendly reminder, evil might look like it wins here on earth, but they absolutely lose in the very end!
