This episode is about a part of recovery I don't think we talk about enough. I share what it's like navigating social situations sober, missing parts of the person I used to be and grieving a life that I know I don't actually want back. In this episode, I talk about the pressure I put on myself to still be the 'fun' one, watching other people drink while becoming increasingly aware of my own sobriety and those uncomfortable moments where I still find myself missing alcohol and drugs. I also share how playing the tape forward helps me remmeber the whole story, rather than just the highlight reel. Recovery doesn't mean pretending every part of the past was terrible. Sometimes you can miss something, grieve it and still choose not to go back.

She shares finding sobriety through the church, building a new life and succeeding in strongwoman before a relapse that lasted three years. This is a conversation about addiction, resilience, identity and finding peace after years of chaos.
