Remembering Star Trek Icons Patrick Stewart And Walter Koenig
The TrekMovie.com Star Trek Podcast NetworkShow Notes
Anthony and Laurie skip the news to focus on the two Star Trek legends we lost this week, Walter Koenig and Patrick Stewart. After they express their shock at the news about Patrick Stewart, they talk about what both actors contributed to the franchise and their legacies that continue. Then they replay the interview Laurie did with Walter Koenig back in 2023 when he was just starting to review TOS episodes on The 7th Rule podcast. He was funny, warm, and open, and talked about what it was like joining an already established cast in season 2 of Star Trek, his honest (and complimentary) thoughts on William Shatner’s acting style, the scene he pitched adding to Star Trek Generations, and more. Our deepest condolences go out to both Walter and Patrick’s family and friends. They will both be greatly missed.

Anthony and Laurie talk to Strange New Worlds‘ producing director Chris Fisher about his work directing the show’s season 4 finale, “Tomorrow’s Enterprise,” as well as his work on other episodes, his thoughts about Star Trek’s future, and his experience in virtual production (and not AI), where he’s become an expert. The Producer’s Guide to Virtual Production by Chris Fisher
Anthony and Laurie sort through the latest on the Paramount/Warner Bros. merger after hearing that the antitrust suit has been settled and talk about what that could mean for Star Trek, as well as the unfulfilled plan of SNW producers to get William Shatner on the show. Then it’s time to talk about Strange New Worlds‘ season 4 finale, “Tomorrow’s Enterprise,” with heaps of praise for Celia Rose Gooding’s performance as two different Uhuras. They wrap up with William Shatner going metal in a Billboard interview and some fascinating facts about late TOS guest star Leslie Parrish.
