What do you do when the place you're building to help rescue dogs becomes the target of theft, vandalism, and repeated break-ins? This week, we're pulling back the curtain on something we've been dealing with at Flip Farms. Over the past few weeks, we've been hit by multiple robberies and acts of vandalism, and honestly, it's been frustrating, confusing, and at times pretty heartbreaking. We talk through what happened, how it's affected us, and what it feels like when a place you're pouring your heart into suddenly doesn't feel quite as safe. We also get into the emotional side of it all—the self-blame, the sleepless nights, the challenge of staying open and welcoming while figuring out how to better protect the farm, the animals, and the future we're trying to build here. But it's not all heavy. We share some of the bright spots too, including the launch of our new rescue coffee truck, an incredible turnout from the community at Rancho Coastal Humane Society, and some of the lessons we learned from our very first event. We also talk about Flip Farms, where it's headed, and why we're more committed than ever to creating a place that brings people together around rescue, coffee, and community. And because Flip is at the heart of everything we do, I share a special moment that reminded me why this whole journey started in the first place with my soul dog, Flip. Then we wrap up with this week's Adoptable Dog of the Week, Blossom, a beautiful Great Pyrenees who's discovering that people can be kind, safe, and worth trusting after a difficult start in life. If you've ever faced a setback while chasing a dream, or if you just believe dogs make the world a better place we'd love for you to join us. We are fighting to save this dog and honestly it's not going to be easy but we have an idea! AND JUST WAIT until you hear Zach's story of recovery, how dogs helped save his life, and why the exact things a struggling dog needs are often the things a struggling human needs, too. Together, they break down the 6 rules Zach says can change a life: rules, boundaries, discipline, exercise, purpose, and affection. Zach explains how caring for dogs gave him the structure he couldn't give himself and ultimately helped rebuild his life. And then Zach explains the Positive Change Program, which brings shelter dogs into prisons where incarcerated people train and rehabilitate them. The dogs get the skills they need to become adoptable, while the people caring for them get responsibility, purpose, connection, and a chance to build a different future. Some participants have gone on to become professional dog trainers after leaving prison. If you believe every dog deserves a second chance - and that sometimes saving a dog means saving a person, too, subscribe and join us every week. 🚨 HELP SAVE SLINK Slink is a Doberman/Great Dane who went through the Positive Change Program and was recently hospitalized after swallowing a towel. His surgery was brought down from $17,500 to $4,500, with the final cost expected to be approximately $6,000 - $8,000. 👉 Please use the YouTube Donate button directly on this video. 100% of donations made through the button go directly to Marley's Mutts to help save Slink.
