Today we’re talking with Lee Mayes, who writes as P. F. White, about his new novel, The Kings of Yellow Street, releasing October 20, 2026.The King family is not your average suburban household. John, the family patriarch, is a cheerful lifelong serial killer. Cassandra, his wife, is a practicing witch who has attracted the attention of dark cosmic entities. Their adopted son, Damien, may one day rule the world—although he finds the title “Antichrist” ridiculous—and their adopted daughter, Endrah, is something even stranger. The family has come to a quiet California town looking for a fresh start, only to discover that school, employment, and ordinary suburban life may be more difficult than cosmic horror—or the occasional murder.Lee holds a master’s degree through Dartmouth College’s Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program. He has published twenty short stories and has taught essay writing, fiction, and English as a second language. His new novel brings together literary horror, family comedy, cosmic menace, and suburban satire.
