HALLOWEEN (2007) MOVIE REVIEW - Are We Supposed To Feel This Uncomfortable?! - FIRST TIME WATCHING

Rob Zombie Made Halloween Louder, Nastier And Way More Uncomfortable!

Jackie Bonsignore & Jon Maturan watch Rob Zombie’s Halloween (2007) for the first time in this full movie reaction and review! This brutal reimagining of John Carpenter’s 1978 classic spends its first half exploring young Michael Myers, his violent childhood and the years he spent under the care of Dr. Samuel Loomis before returning to Haddonfield. Jackie & Jon react to Daeg Faerch’s disturbing young Michael, Tyler Mane’s physically imposing version of The Shape, the sanitarium escape, Danny Trejo’s heartbreaking encounter with Michael, the attacks on Annie and Lynda, Laurie Strode’s desperate fight for survival and the explosive finale!

Written and directed by Rob Zombie (House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects), Halloween stars Scout Taylor-Compton as Laurie Strode (The Runaways, An American Crime), Tyler Mane as Michael Myers (X-Men, Troy), Malcolm McDowell as Dr. Samuel Loomis (A Clockwork Orange, Star Trek Generations), and Daeg Faerch as young Michael Myers (Hancock, American Horror Story).

The cast also includes Sheri Moon Zombie as Deborah Myers (House of 1000 Corpses, 3 from Hell), Danielle Harris as Annie Brackett (Halloween 4, Hatchet II), Kristina Klebe as Lynda Van Der Klok (Don’t Kill It, Hellboy), Brad Dourif as Sheriff Lee Brackett (Child’s Play, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers), William Forsythe as Ronnie White (The Rock, Once Upon a Time in America), and Danny Trejo as Ismael Cruz (Machete, From Dusk Till Dawn).

After the reaction, Jackie & Jon discuss Rob Zombie’s grimy and aggressive filmmaking style, the decision to explain Michael’s childhood, Tyler Mane’s enormous physical presence, the remake’s graphic violence, its abrasive characters and how this radically different interpretation compares with John Carpenter’s original Halloween.
