Sanctuary Series Conclusion (What We Learned)

In this episode, Sean sits down with Aren Rennacker. Aren is the Pacific Union Conference's (PUC) director of Growing Young Leaders, a newly established department focused on expanded promotion and support for young people preparing for pastoral or educational service in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Aren shares his experience in developing a podcast for the PUC called "Adventist Stories". What is so unique about this podcast is that it is an official publication of the Seventh-day Adventist church while still remaining honest and authentic for everyone involved. Aren shares how, as an Adventist employee, he feels free to share stories that both celebrate and critique the church. Ultimately, Sean asks the question: can Adventist employees be fully honest? See how Aren responds to this question through his own experiences. One of the most unique teachings in the Seventh-day Adventist Church is the Sanctuary Doctrine. The guys decide to dive head first into what makes the doctrine so unique, what it actually teaches about who God is, and why it's historically been such a divisive and controversial topic in and outside of the church. In this episode, the guys finish their conversation with Dr. Richard Davidson. Sean Sutton is the visionary founder and creative force behind Bible Bricks, a faith-based building experience designed to make Scripture come alive through hands-on play. Motivated by a desire to help kids (and adults!) engage deeply with biblical stories in an age of screens and short attention spans, Sean turned a simple observation—children naturally drawn to brick building—into a movement that blends education, storytelling, and faith.
