More from Emo Kids Anonymous
Welcome to EKA207! Today we are joined by Columbus OH based band You Have Beautiful Eyes for a dizzying 45 minute interview that will leave you with more questions than answers. The fellas and I talk about their EP, their origins, their fascination with Shakira, Dinosaurs, LMFAO (!?) and so much more. Seriously though, these dudes are awesome. I laughed the entire time I hope you have as much fun as I did. -------------------------------------------------- Thanks for watching, please subscribe to our show for more content!
Welcome to EKA 206! Today we are once again joined by our dear pals Cinema Stare! Quinni and crew are one of our favorite bands we've had on so it was great to catch up and talk about their new Stink EP that they made with Chris Teti of TWIABP, diversity in emo, their upcoming plans and more. Who would win in a street fight between Adjust The Sails and HummusVacuum? What are the best Fall Out Boy songs? Can you bet on DWTS? We uncover the answer to all of these questions and more! ----------------------------------- Thanks for watching, please subscribe to our show for more content!
Welcome to EKA205! Today we are joined by Jon Devoto, guitarist for the Oakland CA band The Matches. Full disclosure (as you'll clearly be able to tell) I am a rather big fan of The Matches. Maybe one of my 5 favorite bands of my formative years, so this was a special chance for me to ask questions as a fan AND a fake journalist. Jon talks about the recent run of shows, why we don't see them at more festivals, which album is his favorite, working with so many producers on Decomposer (Nick Hexum, Mark Hoppus, John Feldmann, etc) and so much more. Along with band stuff, Jonathan was also kind enough to talk about his personal life. From his days as an overly hyper kid doing pushups, to his battle with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy plus his current work helping others in the same position. We also have some fun taking shots at that jabroni jerry seinfeld. This was an incredibly special episode for me, on a personal level. I hope you enjoy, and many thanks to Jon for doing this. -------------------------------- Thanks for watching, please subscribe to our show for more content!
Welcome to EKA 204! Today we're joined by Stefan Kennedy of Glass Generation for the second time in EKA history! Today Stefan joins us as he drives back to LA from a weekend in San Diego and we talk about his trip, the bands upcoming tour, what he and the band have been up to the last 12 months, and much more. We dive deep on the new EP C'est La Vie, the difficulty of being a west coast band, as well as our favorite and least favorite venues in LA. Go check out their new EP! ------------------------- Thanks for watching, please subscribe to our show for more content!
Welcome to a special EKA203! Today we are celebrating and explaining the EKA 200! Our list of the top 200 emo albums of all time, as chosen by 139 people with different opinions on what emo is and what emo albums belong. In this episode we'll give you the backstory, the process, the math that went into scoring, as well as some peaks at the list. We'll even reveal the top 20 or so if that's alright?Again, please remember that music is subjective. I sent the form to over 300 people, and this list is the cumulative opinion of 136 of them (plus the 3 of us). The list is live now at http://emokidsanonymous.com! Thank you to Phil from Rock For Initiative podcast for making the website presentation 5000000x better than I could have ever imagined, thank you to Josh from Aren't We Amphibians for creating the graphics, Hunter for inspiring the project and everyone who participated in this. Lastly, thank you to everyone who reads the list and has an opinion, good or bad. My greatest hope is that we all discover or rediscover a handful of classic albums. ----------------------------- Thanks for watching, please subscribe to our show for more content!
