Show Notes
Luke and Oliver revisit comedic TV musical rascals The Monkees and The Goodies. They look at the background of the shows, the people involved and the standout moments from two episodes.
In Monkees in Paris, the boys walk off the set to go on a dialogue-free, music-filled vacation in Paris, where they playfully romp around landmarks while being chased by beautiful French women. While recorded in 1968, The Monkees was a regular feature of Saturday morning television in 1980s Britain.
Meanwhile, in The Goodies' award-winning Kitten Kong (1971), the trio opens a veterinary clinic and accidently feed a kitten an experimental growth formula. It turns into a giant monster that terrorises London.

More from The Mitchell Brothers Revisit
In this second episode of The Mitchell Brothers Revisit podcast, Luke and Oliver look back at AI in the 1980s and discuss two groundbreaking shows. First it's Knight Rider, and the Season 1 episode 'Trust Doesn't Rust' (aired 1982), where two petty crooks named Tony and The Rev break into a warehouse at the Knight Museum of Technology and accidentally reactivate K.A.R.R. (Knight Automated Roving Robot), the sociopathic prototype predecessor to K.I.T.T. Then comes the first series finale of Max Headroom, aired 1985, when Max talks with musician Sting. True to Max's eccentric style, the conversation wanders through unusual subjects including Sting's aversion to golf ("an old man's game"), his preference for brown shoes over black-and-white footwear, and his role as Dr Frankenstein in the film The Bride.
