When Moon Boots and Pinto (NYC) shared the booth during a residency at Brooklyn’s iconic Public Records, the energy was too palpable to leave behind in the DJ booth. The duo didn’t just swap tracks; they swapped studio hours, and the result is “Get On Up”—a high-voltage Disco-House heater landing on Jackies Music Records. The Story This wasn't a forced collaboration via email. It was born from late nights and loud speakers. "I've been playing Joey's music for years," Moon Boots notes. "We did a session shortly after our set, and the tune just materialized. It’s got that classic Disco-House soul that hits exactly how it should every time we drop it." The Sound “Get On Up” doesn't try too hard because it doesn't have to. It leads with a thick, rolling bassline and percussion that snaps with funk-laced precision. It’s a masterclass in balance: The Groove: Laid down by Pinto (NYC) to provide a relentless, driving foundation. The Soul: Polished and brought home by Moon Boots’ signature melodic touch. The Secret Weapon: As the man himself says, “Don’t forget to peep the 2nd breakdown ;)”—a cheeky, high-energy pivot designed to catch the floor off-guard. The Verdict Tested in the heat of Brooklyn and refined for global dancefloors, "Get On Up" is more than just a collaboration—it’s a celebration of two masters of the craft finding a common language. It’s nostalgic, it’s fresh, and it’s unapologetically House.
