The abusive monster who murdered his partner before blowing up their London home was jailed for life last week with a minimum term of 23 years. Annabel Rook had been domestically abused by Clifton George, her partner of 10 years, and when finally telling him she was ending the relationship he attempted to strangle her before stabbing her to death 31 times. And the awful irony is that Annabel ran a charity helping vulnerable women and her father was a former murder trial judge - but that didn’t prevent her from escaping and falling fatal victim like so many at the hands of abusive men.
