Spurs went to Villa Park and got the job done. Conor Gallagher and Richarlison on the scoresheet, a second straight away win after Wolves, and just like that we're out of the relegation zone with three games to play. Strange times being a Tottenham fan. Stranger still, we're going to be sat watching Arsenal vs West Ham on Sunday afternoon hoping the Gunners do us a favour. With Manchester City drawing 3-3 at Everton last night (Doku rescuing them deep into stoppage time), a win for Arsenal at the London Stadium would almost certainly hand them the title. Try wrapping your head around that one. We'd take it. Three points for them keeps West Ham in serious trouble and pushes us closer to safety. Then it's Leeds at home on Monday night under the lights. They've quietly gone unbeaten in six, smashed Burnley 3-1 at the weekend, and they'll travel down to N17 fancying their chances of mathematically confirming their own Premier League status. We've still got the joint-worst home record in the league. That has to change. Win on Monday and the worst is behind us. Slip up, and we drag this thing all the way to the final day. Jonny, Ollie and Jake break down the Villa win, dig into where De Zerbi is starting to click, talk through the Arsenal vs West Ham scenarios, and preview a Leeds side nobody is taking lightly. Jake R, Jake S and Gary are back for a post match reaction show after Spurs finally got off the mark in the league. Roberto De Zerbi's Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Coventry City to North London on Monday in pursuit of a first Premier League win this season, and collected a 3-1 victory over their newly-promoted visitors. James Maddison gave Spurs their first lead of the season with a brilliant first time finish from the edge of the box. Against his old club too, which made it even sweeter for him. The win moves Spurs out of the bottom three after James Maddison, Omar Marmoush, and Ben Davies scored against Frank Lampard's Cov.
What a game that was. We are back this morning to pick through the bones of a proper rollercoaster at Old Trafford. Tottenham Hotspur were the dominant side for 60 minutes, but Bryan Mbeumo turned it all upside and put Manchester United ahead, only for Dominic Solanke to equalise in stoppage time, following Rodrigo Bentancur's red card.
We're back for a live discussion show on Monday 5 October at 10am UK time.
Man City have been found guilty of the vast majority of the 115 Premier League charges. The Athletic reports 114 of 115 upheld. Mauricio Pochettino says fans "lived through a period of deception." So where does that leave Tottenham?
