Dumb Smart Mums

Show Notes

Renata (@renataroaming) is just so, so cool. She's the founder of the Roam with Kids app and is on your social media feeds sharing all kinds of baby/kid friendly events and spaces. Renata chatted with me this week about so many great topics, but I was particularly impressed with how politically clued in she is. Renata is passionate about changing the landscape so that birthing parents have just as much opportunity to crack the business world as non-birthing parents do. I found our conversation so inspirational, and it gave me the affirmation I needed that I am allowed to take up space through the creation of this podcast. Go and download the Roam with Kids app, and follow Renata everywhere! Show her some love and support a mum doing rad, rad things! Please note a bit of a trigger warning during the "what the f was that" question portion, we talk about our births which weren't super straight forward (shoulder dystocia and postpartum haemorrhage) so if those feel like tricky topics for you, feel free to skip over that section or catch us back in the next episode! As usual, the BIGGEST THANK YOU to Bear & Moo for sponsoring this episode. Another example of NZ mums in business supporting other mums in business is B&M sponsoring this ep! You guys are my favourites and I love you and my life is better because you're in it! Oh hi folks, once again it was Abbey's turn to research but then she didn't and we ended up giving you a different kind of episode. BUT, she gives you some insight as to why she didn't research with her life updates. Y'all are the first to hear it, she's a bit nervous to tell the world, so be nice.

A HUGE thank you to Little Beat First Aid for sponsoring this episode of Dumb Smart Mums. If you're looking for accessible, evidence-based, not terrifying first aid, look no further than Little Beat. Shrenika and her team are so wonderful, and we have both used Shrenika's awesome education on multiple occasions to know what to do when our kiddies have been sick. You can find their website here, and their instagram here. Don't forget to use code DSM10 at checkout for 10% off anything on the Little Beat website, or mention this episode at inquiry for 10% off a private booking. TYSM LBFA, ILY!

Join hosts Abbey & Charlotte this week as we sit down together and have a vulnerable chat about our frustrations with being working mothers, and the roadblocks we've encountered trying to "have it all" (the way we are repeatedly told we can).
