You love elk hunting. You love your wife. But what happens when those two worlds collide?
Today Dan sits down with Daniel — a psychotherapist specializing in men’s health and healing — and an avid elk bowhunter himself. Daniel understands both sides of this conversation. He works with men daily on physical recovery, stress, emotional health, and performance… and he also disappears into the mountains chasing bulls just like you.
In this episode, we dive deep into: Why hunting can quietly create resentment at home The communication mistakes most hunters make before season How to build trust before you leave for 10–14 days Practical, proven steps to strengthen your marriage while still hunting hard Managing expectations during long stretches away Re-entry strategies when you come home from elk camp Leading your household with intentionality, not guilt
Daniel breaks down real-world strategies that work — not theory, not fluff — but actionable steps you can implement immediately so you can pursue September without sacrificing your relationship in October.
This conversation isn’t about hunting less. It’s about leading better. Because filling a tag means nothing if you come home to distance, tension, or disconnection.
