The Duchess of Sussex wasted no time releasing a statement following news that her estranged father, 82 year old Thomas Markle, Sr. was in possession of hundreds, if not thousands, of photos and videos of young girls being sexually abused. In her statement, Meghan Markle says she was informed by police of “disturbing allegations” against him in 2018 and that explains why she kept her distance from her father as well as her choice to not allow him to have contact with her children. Markle claims she was given assurances that authorities were investigating the allegations. It was Meghan’s half brother, Thomas Markle Jr. who alerted authorities, after he says he found the images while looking for innocent family mementos. With less than two weeks before the midterm elections, a left wing online group has released a 30 minute video that features three men who claim the late Senator Lindsay Graham paid them for sex; one of them says he was just 17 at the time. Graham suddenly passed away over the summer and his sister, Darline, is in a very tight race to retain her brother’s senate seat. Some conservatives have dismissed the video as an “open secret” and an attempt to distract South Carolina voters. One former lawmaker says it highlights something more serious, saying the secrets our leaders keep “comprise them in the most dangerous ways for the security, safety, and prosperity of our nation.” See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This is a bizarre story that needs more context to fully understand. 7 year pro and defensive lineman Jordan Elliot is off the Tennessee Titans after the team says he went to his car in the player parking lot to retrieve a gun after an altercation with a teammate. Those who know Elliot say this is completely out of character for the husband and father of four, and “was a call for help more than a criminal act." However, the NFL has a strict firearm policy; personnel are not allowed to bring guns anywhere at league facilities. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Ken McElroy terrorized an entire town and kept getting away with it. Until the day his luck ran out. He was gunned down in front of dozens of witnesses, and suddenly “nobody saw a thing.” In Broad Daylight author Harry MacLean joins Elisa Donovan to unpack this wild true crime story, how McElroy became untouchable, and why everyone stayed silent. A shocking crime out of Georgia where an elderly woman is accused of killing her 75-year-old ex-husband and his new, 40-year-old girlfriend. 76-year-old Grace Edge turned herself into police after officials say she shot and killed the two and shot and injured the girlfriend’s mother. The sheriff told reporters that Edge and her ex had an on again, off again relationship and that she was “not accepting” of the new situation. To add some perspective to this unusual headline: Less than half a percent of ALL murderers in this country are 75 years or older. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
