Ciaran Carey: A Limerick Legend and his love of the GAA

Our guest for Season 4, Episode 9 of the GAA Minor Moments podcast with Electric Ireland is three-time All-Star and Limerick hurling icon Ciaran Carey.

Throughout the episode, Ciaran reflects on his own playing experiences, the valuable lessons he has learned along the way and his current thoughts on the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship.

Carey delves into his extensive youth hurling career, the mental demands of elite competition, and the profound impact GAA has had on his life. He reflects on iconic moments like his 1996 Munster Semi Final winning point against Clare and looks at the contrast between past and present athletic approaches in the GAA.

The star also discusses his nephew Cian Lynch's talent, while finally offering advice to young players on achieving their peak performance.

Every Tuesday, well known Irish stars will share memories from their early sporting careers and reflect on the defining moments from playing Minor and how that shaped them both on and off the pitch.
