More from The Healthy Menopause Podcast
Women's health is about so much more than menopause and looking after ourselves shouldn't start only when something goes wrong. In this episode, I'm joined by Dr Carmen Main, GP and founder of The Women's Practice, to talk about taking a proactive, whole-person approach to women's health at every stage of life. We discuss why women often put their own health last, what prevention looks like in our 20s, 30s and 40s, the early signs of perimenopause we shouldn't ignore, and why movement, muscle, bone and metabolic health deserve a place in our healthcare conversations. Carmen also shares the vision behind The Women's Practice and what it means to create a space where women feel heard, supported and empowered to take charge of their health. Because investing in our health now can make a real difference to our future. Okay… we're going there! Sex, desire, intimacy and our relationship with our bodies aren't always the easiest things to talk about- but they are a really important part of women's health.
Is the advice to “eat less and exercise more” leaving you frustrated in perimenopause? In this episode of The Healthy Menopause Podcast, I’m joined by Angelique Clark, Accredited Practising Dietitian, Nutritionist and Accredited Exercise Physiologist, with more than 20 years of clinical experience. We’re unpacking what actually happens to muscle, metabolism and body composition during perimenopause, and why the strategies that may have worked in your 20s and 30s don't always make sense in midlife. We talk about nutrition, protein, strength training, metabolic health and why constantly trying to eat less or exercise more may not be the answer. Ange brings together her expertise in both nutrition and exercise physiology to help women move away from quick fixes and towards a more sustainable approach to their health. If you're tired of chasing the number on the scales and want to understand how to fuel your body, protect your muscle and support your metabolic health through perimenopause, this conversation is for you.
