God's Commandments versus Man's Traditions: Matthew 15:1-12: 15 Then some Pharisees and scribes *came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, 2 "Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread." 3 And He answered and said to them, "Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God said, 'Honor your father and mother,' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother is to be put to death.' 5 But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever you might benefit from me is given to God," 6 he need not [c]honor his father.' And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you: 8 'This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me. 9 But in vain do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commands of men.'" 10 After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said to them, "Hear and understand. 11 It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man." 12 Then the disciples *came and *said to Him, "Do You know that the Pharisees were [d]offended when they heard this statement?" 13 But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit." Went back over some issues relating to Galatians 3 before beginning a presentation I will continue on the road on the topic of the dating of the CD Corpus.

An hour and forty five minute program today taken up with two major issues: first, reviewing how debates are supposed to be judged, and using that as a framework to focus upon the key issues in the debate from Saturday. This led to a review of Truglia's claims about Galatians 3:1, and we finished up with a lengthy, in-depth review of Basil's argument that immediately brings us to his words in 18.45, abused by the 2nd Nicene Council.

Split the program in half today, covering the continuing developments in Mormonism, and the MIEs (Mormon Intellectual Elites) in contrast with the old view of authority and spiritual guidance. Then I gave an overview of what I expect in Saturday's debate, including putting Basil's words from On the Holy Spirit 18.45 on the big screen and discussing his original meaning in contrast with today's use of his words.

Probably should have gone back to Dositheos, but covered two other topics instead, looking at the wild actions of the Christless Nationalists first, and then looking at Dan McClellan's statement that "the Jesus of the Gospels" was a false prophet, and how the kind of critical scholarship he represents is eating the very heart out of Mormonism (and every other religion it infects).

James started off with a brief discussion of the current state of Mormonism and then went to callers. Call topics included the Litany of Loreto and Marian Devotion, John 1:12-13, and how to witness to LDS Missionaries. Dan Chapa called in asking about Acts 2:23. The program finished with a caller asking about academic LDS studies and if James has looked into them.
