Amigos Retro Gaming Network - Amigos: Everything Amiga / ARG Presents / Sprite Castle / Pixel GaidenSummary
Pajaco joins Amigo Aaron to discuss their shared passion for retro gaming, revealing insights into their gaming histories and preferences. Pajaco shares that he began his gaming journey with the Atari 2600 and later transitioned through various systems, including the BBC Micro and the Amiga. He reflects on the nostalgia of these machines and expresses a fondness for the BBC Micro, noting its unique library of games, despite feeling out of place among peers who owned more popular systems.
The conversation shifts to their current gaming habits, with Pajaco admitting that he primarily focuses on retro games due to time constraints. He mentions his limited engagement with modern gaming, preferring the quick play sessions that retro games offer. They also touch upon the challenges of modern gaming setups, particularly with VR, and the complexities of finding time to play amidst busy schedules.
As they delve into specific games, they discuss "Cookie," a public domain game that Pajaco finds intriguing. They analyze its gameplay mechanics, character names, and the unique premise of a chef battling animated ingredients. Pajaco critiques the game's difficulty and the balance of its mechanics, while also appreciating its creative concept. The duo concludes by discussing the future of gaming, including the impact of AI on game development and the upcoming release of new Amiga hardware, expressing excitement about the potential for innovation in the retro gaming scene.
