VIDEO DESCRIPTION
Retirement was supposed to be the season where life finally slowed down… but for many of us, it feels like we’re being pulled in every direction. In this video, I open up honestly about the emotional struggle of being part of the sandwich generation — trying to balance grandchildren, aging parents, marriage, travel, distance, and guilt… all at the same time.I talk about:feeling guilty for not seeing my grandchildren enough, worrying about my mom, struggling to balance retirement and travel with my husband Ken, and the emotional tug-of-war so many retirees quietly carry every day. I’m also learning something important: wherever we are, we need to try to truly BE there. To be present in the moment instead of constantly feeling torn between the people we love. That doesn’t mean we stop caring. We still text, call, FaceTime, and stay connected. But maybe part of this stage of life is learning that love doesn’t always require us to physically be everywhere at once.
If you’ve ever felt stretched between generations, overwhelmed by responsibility, or guilty no matter what you do… this video is for you.

More from Life Starts at Retirement
Travelling in my 60s is teaching me more than the history of the places I visit. It’s helping me understand my energy, my priorities, and what makes an experience worthwhile.
What have you been saving for “someday”?
As we get older, some life lessons begin to mean more than they once did.
Happiness in retirement doesn’t always arrive automatically. Sometimes, it begins with the small things we choose to do every day.
Retirement can leave you wondering: Who am I now? Without the job, the routine, and the responsibilities that once defined your days, it’s easy to feel a little lost.
