This is Automation Unplugged, and I'm Ron Callis. Today I'm joined by Curtis LeMaster, owner of Control Designer, a custom integration firm based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado that handles control, networking, lighting, shades, and audio for high-end residential projects. Curtis came into this industry in 2000 as a bookkeeper and worked his way into programming, eventually handling AMX systems for professional golfers, rock bands, and an Abu Dhabi prince's private theater. He started Control Designer in 2003, moved the business from Orlando to Colorado in 2015, and today runs a small, deliberately focused shop that takes on a few clients at time.
This is Automation Unplugged, and I'm Ron Callis. Today I'm joined by Patrick Martinez, CEO and head coach of Fivestone Solutions, a Thousand Oaks, California consultancy that helps technical teams build sales systems that actually hold up. Patrick brings more than 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur, CEO, and sales professional. He got his start installing satellite dishes in the mid-nineties, built and later sold his own integration business, and has spent the last dozen years running Fivestone. Along the way he has trained more than 215 salespeople, served 25 businesses, and helped generate over $50 million in attributable revenue. His priority has stayed the same the whole time, which is to leave a company better than he found it.
