It's time to leave behind the digital realm and enter the world of musical theatre. Music by Shaun Allen and WAWAWOW. Brought to you by Total Reboot. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
More from Why is Cats?
So this is this, and that is that. After 7 episodes and half a year of jellicle obsession, Cammy Jimjams and Bennyellydots come to the end of their journey. And to help them unpack what they’ve learned, they have the guidance of the one, the only, Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat!
When this absolutely insane feline musical opened in 1982, it quickly became more than just a theatre show - Cats became a BRAND. A worldwide sensation. Iconic. To find out how and of course why, Cam and Ben chat with super fan Tom Ballard, musical theatre academic Mara Davis and Broadway star Eddie Perfect! Meow!
Ever since the movie trailer dropped those many moons ago, the internet has pondered two big questions – “What is digital fur technology?” and “Why does it make me want to puke?”
This week your brave hosts Cammy Jimjams and Bennyellydots reach the Jellicle Ball and are joined by a tribe of comedians - Tom Ballard, Mark Bonanno (Aunty Donna), Naomi Higgins, Justin Hamilton, Greta Lee Jackson and Craig Anderson - each with their own unique take on the movie, and song to sing.
In order to better understand the movie, Cammy Jimjams and Bennyanydots travel back in time to the 1998 direct-to-video West End production. They drag film freak Alexei Toliopoulos (Total Reboot, Finding Drago) along with them. Will this shed more light onto the world of Jellicles, Pollicles, Pugs and Peaks? (Spoilers: No)
