Show Notes
Today, joining the Cereal Box is the dream team Matilda, Natalie and Maddy for another absolutely stacked show! We kick things off, as per usual, with a pop culture recap, and trust us, the internet has certainly been busy over the past fortnight especially with some exciting news for all you bookworms out there. We also take a look at some of the upcoming national days, learning a few new things along the way and, of course, sparking a little bit of controversy. With movie season in full swing, our Tit for Tat debate gets heated as we discuss the annoying movie behaviours that really grind our gears and which ones we might secretly be guilty of ourselves. Award season upon us, so we put our music knowledge to the test by seeing if we can match celebrity stage names to their real names. Needless to say, some of us were definitely humbled. Finally, with spooky season just around the corner, we dive into the weird and wacky world of irrational fears, discussing the silly things that give us the heebie-jeebies. Of course, there's always plenty more said on air, so tune in to hear all the chaos and debates for yourself! Presenters: Matilda Prelec, Natalie Hung, Maddy Halford Executive Producers: Ella Le Fournour, Sam Kelly We're live weekdays on SYN from 7:30am 📻 Stay in the loop @GetCerealSYN Email us via [email protected] See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It’s Back to the Future Day so the duo get into inventions the film predicted and the ones we’re still waiting for before closing out on International Nacho Day and the dishes you love to share versus the ones you absolutely do not. Connor gives the gang the rundown on recent media and news happenings, and a fun recap quiz of this year’s top pop culture events. We celebrate Global Cat Day by shouting out the Melbourne Cat Lovers’ Festival (and Dog Lovers’ Festival!) on this weekend at the Melbourne Showgrounds, and debate the most iconic cats in books, film and TV. Excitingly, to wrap up, the group interviews Mac from band Big Village and debuts their new single ‘Could it Be?’ LIVE ON AIR FOR THE FIRST TIME! Connor and Ruta take a quiz for National Shawarma Day to find out which German city they would live in based off their kebab order (but should you even be taking the test if you don't know what tzatziki is??). To celebrate the One Direction fanfic Duplicity getting published as a real series of books, Ruta gets Connor to blind rank five published fanfics, some of which you would've never thought of as fanfics! They also discuss artists they knew or saw live before they blew up, Dua Lipa having her first hotdog ever, and the new Victorious spinoff (with characters that are definitely not based off the original cast).
