Gypsy Rose's account of Ken Urker's death has moved, and the evidence hasn't. Soon after he was found dead on October 1st, she told People he likely overdosed and she didn't know if it was on purpose. In her updated Kenan's Law petition three weeks later, she says she's 100 percent sure it wasn't suicide, while admitting the cause is still pending toxicology. The Lafourche Parish sheriff's report describes a gun in a holster on his nightstand, two shot glasses, a syringe, and syringes with a brown powder in the bathroom, and his face and arms were blue. Melani Pawlowski says she knew nothing about the plan to kill Brandon Boudreaux. Robin Dreeke and I test that against her own words and the people around her. The day after the shot, she told Gilbert police she knew nothing, but she wouldn't give them Lori's or Cox's phone numbers, believing those phones were being tracked. Ian Pawlowski testified Lori had told her police were dark and trying to stop their mission. A document attributed to Ian, filed in the custody case, says Melani believed Brandon had to die, while doubting anyone would act. Their lawyer said she didn't believe the religious ideas she passed along. On a call Ian recorded after Cox died, she told Lori she wanted Brandon to stay afraid of him, and the two of them laughed. Melani Pawlowski has never been charged in the October 2019 shooting at Brandon Boudreaux, even though Lori Vallow Daybell's prosecutor told a jury she was in on it. Robin Dreeke and I lay out what the public record shows. Brandon testified five people had his new address and Melani, who'd texted him for it, was the only one tied to Lori or Alex Cox. He handed their youngest to her at a park the morning of the shot, then went to the gym without telling her, and the prosecutor argued that's why Cox waited outside his house for almost two hours. An FBI agent tracked a long call between Lori's phone and Melani's around the shot, but told Lori he tracks phones, not the people holding them. So why has Gilbert never sent her case to prosecutors? In the Anna Kepner case, Timothy Hudson's lawyers told a federal judge one unresolved issue is holding up the plea — and they won't say what it is. The trial date has been postponed three times. Hudson's own mother refused to take him home after the cruise. And in Sandra Birchmore's federal murder trial, the forensic injuries prosecutors allege have no documented parallel. The FBI pulled tens of thousands of texts local investigators never recovered. On the first Homicide Happy Hour, former thirty-year pastor Timmy Gibson traced the line between Caleb Flynn and JP Miller. Flynn was convicted on all nine counts in Ashley Flynn's murder and sentenced to life without parole. Miller faces federal cyberstalking and false statements charges. He has pleaded not guilty and is not charged in Mica Miller's death. Gibson says Flynn's tears at church were the product of a theology where sin creates false humility and drives you closer to God. He says Miller's sermons were allegedly gaslighting from the pulpit, and he called Miller a cult leader. He explained how pastoral licensing is an honor system with no enforcement, and says every pastor he knew lied on the form.
